DESCRIPTION

The estimating technician assists the estimator in the analysis of plans and specifications for all types of projects, records quantities and obtains bids to enable him to establish a price according to the information he has for a project. His duties include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to bidding and tendering strategies
  • Invite bids and follow up with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Study plans and specifications
  • Perform quantity surveys
  • Obtain and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Establish costs for all project budget items
  • Participate in costing studies (classes D to A) for preliminary projects and proposals
  • Effectively use the tools and technologies at his/her disposal
  • Work with his/her team to achieve project objectives
  • All other related tasks
Beaudoin - Exigences

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional or technical background in engineering, architecture or drafting
  • 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of BIM (an asset)
  • Knowledge of estimating and quantity takeoff software (an asset)
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Attention to detail
  • Autonomy and organizational skills
  • Team player
