Positive corporate culture: blueprint for success
As Millennials (born between 1980 and 2000) are gaining ground in the job force, so are their values, most notably their preference for a friendly, social corporate culture, team work, and, mostly, work-life balance. And in order to attract and retain these increasingly ubiquitous employees, business leaders need to adapt…
In the past, I have experienced first-hand the detrimental effects of a poor work atmosphere. But being the motivated and uncompromising millennial that I am, I have chosen to prioritize my professional fulfillment by choosing an employer that gives meaning to my work and values me as an individual.
Our recipe to a positive corporate culture
Here is how my team members at Beaudoin Canada (including my employers!) are creating a positive work atmosphere:
- WE ACKNOWLEDGE EACH OTHER’S ACHIEVEMENTS: Our work has meaning, as our achievements as a team and as individuals are celebrated.
- WE RECEIVE REGULAR FEEDBACK: Whether we have 4, 14 or 24 years of experience, we get frequent, constructive feedback.
- WE ARE INVITED TO MINGLE AND TO BLOW OFF STEAM: On top of having lunch together every day, our bosses also surprise us from time to time with various activities… from axe throwing to fishing trips!
- WE ARE SUPPORTED and feel VALUED: Our bosses have our backs. And we can feel it. They understand our value among the team and they make sure that we see it too. And they give us the tools we need to succeed!
Everything is possible…it is up to you to decide!
Feeling excited to go to work every day is a blessing. Most of all, it is possible. Don’t settle for a job that leaves you unsatisfied: keep looking for the employer of your dreams…
