The Payroll Accounting Technician works in collaboration with several stakeholders and supports department managers in the management of their human resources.
Prepare weekly payrolls for office employees and construction sites (Quebec & Ontario)
Prepare the remittances for the different governmental organizations
Carry out the remittances of D.A.S
Prepare monthly remittances for CCQ, Union Ontario
Prepare the annual T4 for employees
Prepare the terminations of employment
Complete the various annual reports related to payroll (CSST, WSIB, HEALT TAX)
Complete the monthly bank reconciliation of the company
Follow up on group insurance and DPSP for employees
Manage vacation and leave requests
Answer questions related to the company’s policies and procedures
All other related tasks
College education in accounting or a combination of equivalent experience
5 yeras or more of experience in a small business related to the construction industry
Fluency in French and English
Basic computer skills (Windows, Office, etc.)
Knowledge of the rules of the construction industry
Experience with Maestro (an asset)
Teamwork, listening skills and positive attitude
Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
Learning ability and autonomy
